Got a decent start

I've read the books, scoured the internet, tried vegan, paleo, atkins and caloric "life styles" and have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to do.  My current plan is a modified paleo, modified because I just cannot confront the idea of no dairy.  Paleo is my top pick because it eliminates nearly all sugar, especially from starchy grains that convert to glucose (sugar).  I also find it easier to follow with more recipes available online.  I'm also focusing on keeping my calories low which is just basic common sense. Weight loss is achieved by expending more calories then you're bringing in and while I like paleo because it's easier to follow, it's also easy to consume a lot of calories.  My target is 1500 calories per day, with a near complete elimation of sugar.  If I had the backbone I'd get rid of dairy too but dear lord I love cheese and butter.

I skipped breakfast mainly because I didn't feel like cooking but I did have a cup of coffee with half'n'half (30 calories).

Lunch was a bit of a cheat with a cheeseburger (268 calories), just made sure to skip the french fries.

Dinner was wild black rice cooked in beef broth and coated in butter, white chicken breasts stir fried in a curry spice blend and a large side of steamed broccoli also coated in butter (715 calories).

Admittedly this was not paleo but I'm easing into this slowly.

That's 1320 calories for the day, so had I not skipped breakfast I still had 240 to spare for some scrambled eggs or whatnot.  I'm under the recommended protien amount but just barely, and only ate a total of 17 grams of sugar for the whole day.

I'm using a fitness app MyFitnessPal which is working for now.

parden my ugly dinner shot
